WHAT TO EXPECT:

You may choose to spend your time, up to 2 hours per session, focusing on your areas of concern. I will work to accommodate your specific requests by spending more time or using more varied techniques in those areas. We can focus on such areas as arms, legs, hips, neck, back or shoulders.

Massages 60 minutes or more may be a full body treatment with some areas receiving more attention than others depending on the tension pattern, and how many techniques are used.

Less than 60 minute sessions focus on specific areas, and I usually recommend these between regular sessions if you are experiencing a lot of pain or dysfunction.

After your first session I will recommend a session length and frequency, and most likely give you some sort of homework :-)

I re-evaluate at every 3rd session, and keep notes on progress.

MY TECHNIQUE:

I will use various techniques and modalities to customize a session that works best for you. I often include breathing and body awareness exercises and may suggest easy stretches to practice at home.

I utilize the Swedish strokes of effleurage, petrissage, friction, vibration, and tapotement, as well as energy work, breathwork, aromatherapy, and movement therapy into most of my sessions.

My sports massage includes the strokes of Swedish and incorporates more rocking, compression and range-of-motion techniques including PNF stretching, and myofascial work.

I use trigger point and other neuro-muscular techniques to treat pain and pinpoint sources using an in-depth knowledge of anatomical form and function.

I have been a licensed therapist for over 20 years and have touched tens of thousands of bodies. I welcome questions about any techniques or methods I am using during your session.
